# Talcott Forge

> The finance platform for sovereign founders.

**Talcott Forge Corporation** (Talcott Forge) is an intelligent finance platform for **sovereign founders**: builders who deploy their own balance sheet into businesses they intend to own outright, without debt or dilution.

Our customers are typically experienced operators. Mid-career corporate and tech professionals starting something new. Franchise buyers. Small-business acquirers. Independent founders with retirement savings or personal capital to bootstrap their new company.

Talcott Forge exists because the default financial and professional-service stack was not built for this founder profile. Wealth advice tends to serve already-wealthy households. Accounting and compliance support often arrive after decisions have already been made. Venture capital is designed around a different ownership model. We combine software, institutional knowledge, and human expertise for founders building outside those default paths.

## Products

Our first product is **Nexus by Talcott Forge**, a retirement-capital platform for founders who want to use qualified retirement savings to start or buy a business through a compliant ROBS 401(k) structure.

## Who We Serve

Talcott Forge is built for **founders with \$50-100K+ in qualifying retirement funds or personal capital** who want to self-fund a business without taking on debt or giving up equity. The technical floor is \$50,000 - see [eligibility](/robs/eligibility) for the cost-effectiveness math.

Typical customers include:

* Experienced professionals leaving a corporate role to start or buy a business
* Franchise buyers financing franchise fees and initial operating capital
* Entrepreneurs acquiring an existing small business
* Founders who'd rather deploy their own balance sheet than take on debt or investors

## Current Documentation

These docs currently focus on **Nexus 401(k)** because it is the active Talcott Forge product. They explain how the structure works, who qualifies, what Nexus handles, what the founder remains responsible for, and how ongoing administration works after funding.
